Songwriter & Composer |
The first song ever I wrote (What’ll the Neighbours Say) was sent to us from Scotland 15 years after, when Frankie Armstrong, Kathy Henderson and I were researching material for the book ‘My Song Is My Own’. We were told it was traditional . . . . . !
Since then I’ve written songs for and about, women, children, miners, doctors, suffragettes, open-cast mining, the WI, re-cycling and underwear. And then there was all the Bagpuss music. Most of my family and friends have had tunes and songs written for them, too, as gifts - whether they wanted them or not! |
